It was a solid year with many impressive comebacks! Apparently 2009 was mainly a Black/Death Metal year with all the major bands in those genres releasing their best material yet. It was also the Megadeth thrash comeback year, and a solid year for Progressive Metal with Mastodon, Riverside, Dream Theatre, Pain of Salvation and others releasing great classic albums as well.
