  • Patrick Saad’s Top Release of February 2012

  • Coldworker – The Doomsayer’s Call

RecommendedMonochrome Existence and Flesh World.

This month is packing with Extreme Metal releases and Coldworker’s “The Doomsayer’s Call” is my favorite under this genre. This is Death Metal that recalls Vader’s aggressiveness without going to the “Brutal” side of the spectrum. Expect constant Thrash / Death Metal riffing and blasting beats!

For fans of: Vader.

  • Rami Rouhana’s Top Releases of February 2012

  • Swallow the Sun  Emerald Forest and the Blackbird

Recommended: Hearts Wide Shut and This Cut is the Deepest.

Definitely another work of art by Swallow The Sun, an album packed with elements of Doom with Progressive twists. Amazing music and ambiance by this band who never fails to deliver!

For fans of: Draconian and Doom Metal.

  • Soen  Cognitive

Recommended:  Purpose and Oscilliation.

Martin Lopez and Steve DiGiorgio worked together to release the first album by Soen.

This album will definitely be included in the top albums of 2012 to say the least!

For fans of: Opeth and Anuryzm.

  • Karim Koreitem’s Top Release of February 2012

  • Asphyx – Deathhammer

RecommendedWe Doom You To Death.

While Death Metal has nowadays branched into many styles, Dutch band Asphyx decide to bring us another great record after their reformation in 2007 by sticking to old school raw Death Metal. Deathhammer is a mix of straight fast paced thrashers and slower doom thick songs with brilliant vocals from Martin van Drunen of Pestilence fame.

For fans of: Death/Doom Metal, Autopsy, Pestilence.
